The Fall 2012 Classics — Alice & Olivia

After looking at the Jil Sander’s Fall 2012 Collection with its beautiful pastels, it was hard looking at the over abundance of blacks and browns that many designers brought to the runway for Fall 2012. It all seemed a bit too heavy. Then I came across the Alice & Olivia collection and it was like a breath of fresh air. Stacey Bendet, the designer for Alice & Olivia, created an often times fun and whimsical look that included classic pieces with a modern twist. I’ve chosen some of my favorite classic looks with a few “anything but classic” ensembles to remind us that fall can be, and should be, about having fun!!

The Look: Strong, sexy, playful
The Details: Mixing patterns and prints such as the gold sequin shift dress paired with a red knit sweater and fur collar, and the brown leather bomber jacket worn with the floor-length green sequin gown.
